its bothering me because I honestly can't tell. The rims make me think so, but I think it is wearing some aftermarket body kit...

1987-1994 900 Convertible. Body kit looks to be OEM Carlsson, though it may be the VIP knockoff. No way to tell except the fog housings are shaped differently and the rear bumper has mesh in it. Can't see from this side. Wheel arches, if chrome, aftermarket. If body color painted plastic, possibly OEM Carlsson. Side skirts are OEM SPG/Aero, also standard on Carlsson. I don't think any Carlson 'verts were ever made, though I could be wrong.
More info: Judging by the 9000 wheels, it's a 1988-1994. If this is in America, it's either an aftermarket kit or someone paid good cash to have the Carlsson parts shipped over.

After scrutinizing the pics, those almost have to be Carlsson parts.

Is this car in America?

There's no way this is stock. Right?

That bumper edge? That's the only thing that is pointing me to the VIP body kit. From the side, they look nearly identical to the OEM Carlsson parts.

From looking at these, the front wheel arch ends where it meets the bumper, but on the one above it looks like the bumper is supposed to cover it up, but is misaligned. Also, it could just be the angle and lighting, but the curve below the bumper area and where it comes down looks to be more pronounced on the cars here than the one in the OP.
Not sure...

Look at that second vehicle in the picture. It's most definitely in North America. Given that the picture was taking recently and I imagine Canada still being a glacier this time a year it must be taken in the US.

Well if it is the VIP Carlsson knockoff, that seals the deal for me - will not purchase.

I was not at all paying attention to the other vehicle in the picture ;)

Agreed, something looks a little wrong up front.

Many of the OG 900 'verts in Monte Carlo Yellow had kits, but not as extreme.

I believe the OP is American (Floridian even...?).

It was down in Florida and mom said normal florida plates on it.
That is so cool. Never knew it would be rare. It was all body painted, no chrome

yes! Florida! Cool you remember!
And the front was confusing me the most, it looks so unique but awesome

Well here's the thing: Only 600 Carlssons were made 1991-1993, none of them verts. All EU market. The fitment of the front bumper says it's probably not OEM part. So, this is a tastefully modified 88-94 vert using a mix of OEM and aftermarket parts. Someone knows their shit, that is for sure!
If it is the VIP kit, they did it right by using SPG skirts instead of the ugly skirts from the kit.

Wow! I wish I was there so I could flag down the owner! I usually do not like mods, but this one just works.
I love that he is using it too. The driver seat is folded, so someone was most likely back there!
Ive always loved Saabs since my dad had a 92 900S convertible in green!

I love em too! I'll be chronicling the restoration of my 1987 900 SPG, keep an eye out for the articles!

You have no idea how jealous I was when I heard you got that!
Kudos for being ballsy enough to tackle the work yourself!

Lol thanks! I've found out why more people with Ph.D.s drive Saabs: It takes an advanced degree to work on the things ;)
